Every Laptop that is used frequently will have to have its screen cleaned quite often. Figure prints, Dust, Smudges and lots of other stuff will accumulate on the Laptop screen over time. It can be very annoying, but don’t worry, I will be giving you some tips to keep it clean.
Cotton Cloth
It’s very important to choose wisely on which kind of cloth you use to clean your laptop screen. Using a cotton cloth is the best choice, or any type of clothe that doesn’t contain any filaments that could potentially damage the laptop screen . 100% cotton is always the best choice. You can easily pick these up anywhere, you may even have a 100% cotton shirt that’s old that you could use to clean your laptop screen!
Here are some things never to clean your laptop screen with.
- polyester, it contains filaments that may scratch the laptop screen.
-Paper towel and facial tissue are a 100% no!. They almost always contain small fibers, and may even contain some sort of lotion or other junk. This can either scratch your laptop screen, or make cleaning it even harder.
Don’t Press Too Hard
It doesn’t take very much force to clean your computer screen. (Well at least it shouldn’t) So don’t press very hard, it could damage the screen and leave scratches.
Be Safe With Cleaning Liquides
Out of them all, the most safe, and effective way to clean your laptop screen with liquids is to use isopropyl alcohol. It contains 90-100% pure alcohol, and a bit of de-ionized water. Mix a bit of both together to make a nice cleaning solution. This is one of the cheapest ways, and will overall be the most effective. It’s also great to clean many other electronics with it, for it will evaporate quickly and not leave any residue.
Do Not Spray Solutions on the Screen
Never spray cleaning solutions on the screen. Spray some isopropyl alcohol and distilled water( The solution we talked about above) on a clothe, just to dampen it a little. Then, with this clothe, wipe the screen softly. It could soak the screen, and leave you with the risk that it gets inside and damages parts of the laptop.
Try to Keep Your Screen Clean
Care for your laptop, that’s the main way to keep it clean. Try not to use in a dusty/dirty environment, don’t drink/eat around your laptop too often. When you sneeze move your face away from the laptop.
With these tips, your laptop screen should look brand new in know time and even stay that way!
