Actually, my mother has those cassettes, because she’s probably the only person in this millennium that I know that still listens to that format of music. It might take a while before she gets into digital format, but I am ready for that day with the ION Audio Tape Express.

All a user needs to do is connect the Tape Express to the PC via USB, and allow the EZ tape converter software to turn that tape into an MP3 in hardly any time at all.

It is nice of ION audio to construct the Tape Express to resemble a very old-school Sony Walkman. By the way, you can actually use the Tape Express to play your old cassettes next time you are feeling a little old school. Hopefully it has a faster rewind than my old portable tape player.

You should be able to get the ION Audio Tape Express for about $80.

Treadmills and I don’t exactly get along and I imagine I’m not the only one that detests them.  My hatred started after a back injury, the jarring steps you take on a treadmill hurt far more than they help when you’re injured.  Well if my gym had one of these treadmills I wouldn’t have had that problem.  This Anti-Gravity Treadmill makes it feel as if you’re jogging in zero gravity.  That makes it ideal for anyone with an injury that keeps them from jogging.

I had a chance to try it out for myself, and I liked what I tried. The SlimTouch Mini keyboard comes with a Bluetooth USB dongle that is so small…how small is it? It is so small, the box had to have an arrow saying “USB dongle” or a new user would not have been able to find it. Yeah, that joke isn’t very funny, but usually those “how (insert adjective here) is it” jokes usually aren’t.

For those who want to be free of the mouse as well as a wired keyboard, the SlimTouch also includes a GlidePoint touchpad with a convenient scrolling feature.

Adesso boasts that the keys of the SlimTouch have low profile scissor switches for quiet typing, but these keys sounded about as “loud” as the ones on my laptop. Not that the typing of these keys would keep anyone awake, mind you.

The Adesso SlimTouch Bluetooth Keyboard can be purchased at the Adesso site for about $129.99. It requires two AAA batteries for power, and pairs quite easily with computer or even mobile phone.

Usually people do their best to keep their flashlights out of sight.  Be it that they stay out in the garage or the top drawer in the kitchen, they usually stay hidden.  Well if you’re not one that feels the need to keep a flashlight tucked away, you might like these strange pendant lights.  They’re perfect for anyone that is tired of the usual shape lights seem to take.  Of course, getting items with a quirky design always seem to cost a bit more.

The Bubo has a hotshoe mount with LED lights, with four tripod mounts. It has a standard 37mm lens that is threaded so you can put other lenses on it, besides the one that the Bubo already comes with. I believe that it also comes with a front-facing microphone.

So what are we looking at, some new way that video bloggers can gain better video footage? I certainly hope so.

By the way, I think I know why they call it the Bubo. Anyone remember the 1981 Ray Harryhausen Greek myth film Clash of the Titans? Yes, Bubo was the name of the mechanical owl that Athena gave to Perseus to aid him on his quest. I guess someone wanted an R2D2 character in their classical Greek movie adaptation.

Anyway, this OWLE has been on quite a quest since its first concept drawing, and the designers won some award for iFund’s “Most Promising Startup”. The Bubo will be available for pre-order tomorrow for $99.95.

It looks like it would be quite a comfortable chair, doesn’t it? Of course, if you are claustrophobic, you probably don’t want it closing you up. There is a picture of this closed mobile cocoon after the jump.

This is the “Media Vehicle”, a virtual reality chair/capsule created by Iwata-Yano Laboratory at the University of Tsukuba. The purpose of the spherical screen is so that the user can be in a virtual reality environment.

There are various uses of this device, and most of them seem plucked from science fiction. I could easily see this being used as some sort of simulator with today’s technology. I’m not certain if we have the technology to create anything more.

I believe the wheels are for it to move around, but I can’t imagine what for. Unless you want to create a virtual bumper car or something.

I can totally see workplaces of the future putting their workers in these things as some sort of distraction-free cubicle. I can also just see them running Windows 17 with hundreds of applications at work inside this cozy habitat. I’m not certain that I want to see this future come to pass, though.

If you’re on the lookout for a gift for a young girl that loves her music, then these little speakers are made just for teen girls.  Of course they’ll work just as well for a female of any age that enjoys her share of pink gadgets.  These speakers are small enough that they’ll be easy to keep on hand whenever you need a little portable music.

These come in 3 different finishes, Multi Dottie, Berkeley and Coco Stripe.  Sadly, you do have to choose only one.  It’d be nice if the finishes were somehow interchangeable since the speaker does have a fairly simplistic design.  In order to keep your speaker up and running it’ll require two AAA batteries, which is a little unusual.  It’s a bit more typical for them to be rechargeable through a USB port, but you could just as easily pop in your own rechargeable AAA batteries.  To purchase one of these speakers it’ll cost you $19 from PB Teen.
