I believe I would be remiss in my duties as a gadget blogger to not report on Windows 7 on its official release date, but if you don’t know about it already, then where have you been?
However, here’s a little bit of promotion that is simply excessive. Burger Kings of Japan are celebrating the release of Windows 7 by cooking up a Windows 7 Whopper. This burger has seven patties and costs 777 yen, which is about $8.53 U.S. Dollars.
Personally, I think that anyone who can actually finish off a 5.1 inch burger deserves to get Windows 7 for free. I dare anyone to simply get their mouth around the thing, really.
In addition to this odd Japanese Burger King campaign, Microsoft found a new way to hype Windows 7 in the Dutch village of Zevenhuizen (”Seven houses”) where they gave Windows 7 to every resident.
Microsoft even decorated parts of the Spanish Village Sietes (”Sevens”) in Windows-themed colors.
Clearly, Windows 7 hype has gone too far, and it didn’t really need any more advertising. After all, it has been recently reported that pre-orders from Amazon have beat out the record numbers of pre-orders for the last Harry Potter book.
Okay, I’ve gotten Windows 7 out of my system. I can’t help but think of how long it would take to get a whole Windows 7 burger out of your system, if you know what I mean.
