I am the type of person that has a lot of little downloads and installations on my computer for the one time that I may actually need them. Over time though, these installations add up and start to slow computers down. To reduce the amount of these programs, I have started looking for web based applications. These are basically version of the tool that you do through your browser without installing anything on your computer. The most useful of these web based applications that I have found is “meebo.com”. This site allows you to use AIM, MSN, and many other instant messaging programs through your browser without installing anything onto your computer. This website is great for not only reducing the clutter of programs on your own computer, but it is also good on the go when you are at a place that has neither of these programs installed on the computer. Another handy feature about meebo is that instead of having to have a new window open for each conversation, you can have all of your windows inside of the main page. In final, before installing your next instant messaging program, think about using meebo.com instead.
